There is a Rose in Spanish Harlem

Those words have much different meaning in the song but it often quite a surprise to discover a new sea of green in the city, an oasis of nature amongst all that steel and glass, and there are many many such surprises to be discovered across the city. With the onset of Spring the city starts to sprout green... and red... and yellow etc.

There's flower boxes on brownstones, arching trees over the village streets, well tended gardens, sidewalk plots, and walls smothered with vines. There's more neighborhood parks and walkways than you might imagine and then there's the stars of the show; Central Park and The High Line.
